I have been taking baking soda capsules for a while because I just could not get used to the salty taste of drinking sodium bicarbonate mixed with water, it is terrible. I really like the results that I get from taking the baking soda capsules, but it is not without its challenges. One irritating thing about taking baking soda capsules is burping up stomach gas for a while after taking them. Sodium bicarbonate reacts with stomach acid to produce CO2 which is where the burping comes from. I’ve always used baking soda to naturally balance my acid levels and digestive issues. The problem is that it tastes awful, and hard to take down, but I’ve always suffered through it because it’s so effective. I love the convenience of these capsules. No odor, taste and easy to swallow. I take one with my coffee since I tend to drink coffee on an empty stomach. Yes, they are expensive for baking soda. It is the price to pay for convenience if that is something that you value. If you don’t mind the taste or hassle of drinking baking soda water, then you’re not going to find much value here.

If you do hard core workouts or just do a lot of manual labor you know what “the burn” is. It’s the sensation you get in your muscles when you do heavy workouts. Science has started to show that some of this burn is caused by the decreasing of blood pH (more acidic). This is caused by the increase of hydrogen in muscles. Since this supplement uses a capsule that can survive the stomach and make it to your lower intestine it can then be absorbed into the body and help lower the pH of your blood, thereby decreasing that muscle burn. I was using another companies NaHCO3 and need to order some more when I ran across this one. It’s cheaper than the one I was taking while still meeting my requirements for being made in the USA and meeting safety standards and being batch tested for purity. Sorry old supplement company, I just found a replacement that is at a much more reasonable cost. Will be buying this one again and again.

This supplement most definitely seems to help out with digestion. The best part about these capsules is that they are delayed release, which allows the sodium bicarbonate to get to your gut before being absorbed by stomach acid. There is a tiny bit of aftertaste from them, but I actually don’t mind it at all – it’s a neutral taste, and not bitter or sour – but does taste a little salty. I have never heard of this brand name before, but the capsules came well-sealed and protected by a cover as well as a sticker to let you know if they have been opened before or not.
This is a great alternative to taking baking soda by mouth – and for 120 capsules, it’s definitely worth the price.

I was impressed with how quickly this worked. I had some heartburn when I woke up and it was just getting worse as the day continued I remembered I had just gotten this the day before open it up took one and was relieved within 30 minutes and have not had an issue since. Good for people who have daily heartburn one a day pretty much takes care of the problem. But even if you don’t need to take it everyday it’s a great supplement to have on hand because you may not always have Tums Pepto or other antacids around.
